UNUSUAL WINES This will be a fun new experience. Wines you will be told to buy will be under $20 and you should be able to find them here in our stores. I believe these are wines you would not normally buy for yourselves, but will enjoy tasting. I will give you the name of a wine and you will bring it and a dish to match. Please bring information about the wine to share with the class also. |

$8 to $10 per person to taste 8 Sparkler styles, from different countries, including a French Champagne & a Mimosa Happy Hour. CHAMPAGNE & SPARKLING WINE Nice cold Sparklers on a hot August evening. I will purchase the wine and you can just pay me for them. You will need to find foods that will go with them and bring to the group. I have someone bringing a dessert. The rest of you will bring foods to go with Champagne in general. THINK HERBY, SALTY, FAT & EVEN SALADS w/ vinaigrette. SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2014 FAVORITE WINE AND FOOD PAIRING Bring a favorite wine and food pairing that you especially enjoy. Let everyone try it. Even snacks is fine. Just something that, in your opinion, goes really well together. OCTOBER THE NEW BOXED WINE Good articles: http://wine.about.com/od/winerecommendations/a/bestboxwines.htm?nl=1 http://www.winespectator.com/magazine/show/id/40580 I want you to have time to shop and let me know what you want to bring before you buy it. This way we won't all have the same one. I would like a good variety to try. You can find what almost any wine store in the U.S. has before ever going to the store and buying it now. Most of them have a website and a product list; just like our Liquor Stores. You may already have a favorite that you want to bring and that is fine. Just let me know and I will keep the list. For those of you who don't, I have compiled a list of box wine from California that may be easier for you to find close by (CLICK HERE). |

NOVEMBER
BLIND TASTING Any Australian or New Zealand wine. We are all lovers of these regions and so I thought we should make a blind tasting of it. DECEMBER PARTY TIME You know the routine. You bring wine and I put out the food. You fed me all year, and now it is my turn. As usual, to have something besides Turkey and Ham, the traditional Holiday fair, we will have ribs and chicken. I also have a BIG bottle to share with you all again this year. And of course, as usual, the cost is what you can afford, you put in the ‘kitty’ and the rest is just plain enjoying the evening together. Guests are welcome, just let me know ahead. I am planning on all of you being to this one, so be sure and let me know if you are not going to be able to make it. |
